Not to be confused with the Dominican Republic, The Commonwealth of Dominica has been an independent nation state since 1979. The island is part of the Lesser Antilles, located 2,000 km to the southeast of Miami between the two French islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique.
Dominica is part of the Commonwealth and is a well-functioning democracy based on the British parliamentary system. The official and business language is English and a Creole language is also spoken, people fluent in this language can converse with French speakers. Dominica is a member of the United Nations (UN), the British Commonwealth, the Organization of American States (OAS), Caricom and various other international organizations.
The Dominica Programme
The Economic Citizenship Program of the Commonwealth of Dominica was established in 1991. The program is based on the statute which means the granted citizenship may not be revoked no matter of changes in the governmental executives or policy. The program is defined in the constitution and laws of Dominica: Section 101 of the Constitution and Section 8 of the Citizenship Act, Chapter 1:10 of the Revised Laws and Section 20 (1) of the Citizenship Act 1991.

The Application Breakdown
1Step 1 (Introduction)
During step 1, Berkeley Citizenship will provide you with all of the necessary application forms and will also assist you by providing our professional advice. At this stage, Investors will receive all the information about the programme.
2Step 2 (Initial Application)
Once the application has been lodged, the Dominican government will take approximately 8 weeks to process the paperwork. Please note that you must be over 21 years old with a clear police record and good English speaking skills before you can apply.
3Step 3 (Provisional Approval)
Once all of the paperwork has been provisionally approved and upon issuance of Government official Interview Invitation Letter the stipulated investment amount must be paid directly to the Ministry of Finance and Planning into the specified secure bank account.
4Step 4 (Granted Citizenship)
Upon citizenship approval the Investor is issued a Certificate of Naturalization and Berkeley Citizenship will obtain passport/s within approximately 1 week. We will contact you to advise you that you can collect your Passport / Citizenship from your local consulate office.
